An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Pinho in the 5th minute of play forced Brasiliense FC's goalkeeper Dário Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Amorim in the 7th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Squadra Demarchi got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Corrêa. An unexpected shot in the 10th minute by Claudinho Pinho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Bruno Alves's late challenge caught a Squadra Demarchi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Alves helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brasiliense FC booed when Squadra Demarchi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ciro Castro fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Squadra Demarchi's protests and gave Ciro Castro a yellow card for diving instead. Ciro Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Dário Pernambucano stood somewhat misplaced when Claudinho Pinho came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 31 minute. The supporters of Brasiliense FC booed when Squadra Demarchi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christian Sarmento hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Pinho made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Aírton Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Squadra Demarchi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sérgio Batista was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 57 minutes into the match. Sérgio Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Negri took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Oscar Saldanha. Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Ciro Castro got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Claudinho Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dário Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Brasiliense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Montenegro came free, but Dário Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Amorim in the 83rd minute of play forced Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper Oscar Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dário Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Squadra Demarchi succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Brasiliense FC had controlled the match.
