Matías Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, one of AC Metropol:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AC Metropol. When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, Polar Ice Caps's André Botvidsson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Matías Teixeira. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Charles Zonta made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Polar Ice Caps got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Malmberg. Polar Ice Caps's Henry Blom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Polar Ice Caps from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the game, Polar Ice Caps's Maximiliano Eron nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The audience was convinced that Maximiliano Eron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matías Teixeira was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After 82 played minutes AC Metropol got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson de Barros. Matías Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Eron in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, José Vítor Campidelis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Metropol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Polar Ice Caps the free kick. José Vítor Campidelis hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximiliano Eron in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matías Teixeira saved AC Metropol from getting behind. Matías Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximiliano Eron's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. AC Metropol's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
