Rein Goethals scored 1-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maximino Cristofanini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 42 minutes into the match, de belletrekkers's goalkeeper Baxter De Hond had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferry Hebels. Teun Rondou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Cristofanini having to interfere. Vitinho Toledo's late challenge caught a de belletrekkers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vitinho Toledo helped the player get up and apologised. When Rein Goethals came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the de belletrekkers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rein Goethals couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sjaak Degens to strike the kick off in the second half. Baxter De Hond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruud Reinders in the 50th minute of the match. Rein Goethals fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Cristofanini having to interfere. In the 79thth minute of the game George Van Impe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buitenhout FC's Maximino Cristofanini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Baxter De Hond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sjaak Degens in the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruud Reinders in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baxter De Hond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ted Fokkelman in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baxter De Hond saved de belletrekkers from getting behind. A collision led to de belletrekkers getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Teun Rondou hit a great ball. Buitenhout FC's Vitinho Favoretto was substituted for Ruud Reinders. In the 85th match minute, de belletrekkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teun Rondou to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Ferry Hebels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baxter De Hond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rein Goethals's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximino Cristofanini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
