The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eloy Loramendi charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Maximino Constancio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börje Åkesson in the 16th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Börje Åkesson came free, but Maximino Constancio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sundborn IF booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Gonchan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute of the match Alvin Pihlblad sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maximino Constancio skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Sundborn IF's Hugo Sikström got control of the ball when Eloy Loramendi tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Sundborn IF getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Roy Abrahamsson hit a great ball. The supporters of Sundborn IF booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Argider didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juan Hvalica to strike the kick off in the second half.
