In the 5th minute of the match, Nicky Cavazos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gregor Compaan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 6th minute Jiang Zhi Ling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute of the match FFC Merainies 03 got a corner. Cosmos Soccer Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Youri Bemmel ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on FFC Merainies 03's corner Youri Bemmel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jarrett Rosenberg quite easily take care of the ball. Patrick Fontenot hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When FFC Merainies 03's Rafael van Zeggeren in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of FFC Merainies 03 booed when Cosmos Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Amor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael van Zeggeren in the 34th minute of play. Donovan Heath hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrick Fontenot to make the kick off. Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael van Zeggeren in the 53rd minute of play. Youri Bemmel kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Rafael van Zeggeren made a precise shot to the right of Jarrett Rosenberg. Cosmos Soccer Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael van Zeggeren in the 63rd minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Mendoza tried in the 76th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Jarrett Rosenberg a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 0-3. After a rather tough play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Emanuel Novak got a free kick in the 80th minute. Rafael van Zeggeren scored 0-4 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarrett Rosenberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Rafael van Zeggeren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarrett Rosenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Springelkamp in the 88th minute of play. Jarrett Rosenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michaelo Koole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarrett Rosenberg made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Erben Medgyesi sent off a good shot on target. FFC Merainies 03's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
