Ground Control's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guy Rothe ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Sydney FC's Guy Rothe to fire away a dangerous shot which Jérémie Millier despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 15th minute Thorben Rittmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jérémie Millier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amine Philibert might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Bremicker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amine Philibert ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Michael Bremicker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amine Philibert. Amine Philiberts short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Michael Bremicker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 22nd minute, Henrik Reifer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sydney FC's Michael Bremicker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Sydney FC from getting a goal against them. Michael Bremicker made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Amine Philibert sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Ground Control's Amine Philibert slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Michael Bremicker. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Sydney FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Amine Philibert scored to the left of an out of position Michael Bremicker, making the score, 2-0. In the 34th minute Guy Rothe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jérémie Millier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ground Control getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Felix Laget hit a great ball. Bartolomeo Heinlein hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Amine Philibert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ground Control's Louison Vaille got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rdth minute of the game Thorben Rittmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ground Control's Jérémie Millier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 44th minute Thorben Rittmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jérémie Millier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Michael Bremicker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felix Laget scored 3-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Bremicker, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amine Philibert to make the kick off. Michael Bremicker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amine Philibert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Ground Control's Amine Philibert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Bremicker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Amine Philibert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ground Control's supporters rose to their feet, but Amine Philibert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Bremicker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michael Bremicker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amine Philibert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jérémie Millier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 84th minute of play forced Ground Control's goalkeeper Jérémie Millier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Amine Philibert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michael Bremicker was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Ground Control's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
