Spectators: 7153 (Terracing: 5828, Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 125) Miguel Godoy started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 1989 Blxsk's Eriberto Honesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Cordarrell in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, one of 1989 Blxsk:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Eriberto Honesto had in the 10thth minute some difficulties stopping Marcelo Michael's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 10th minute, Marcelo Michael made a precise shot to the right of Eriberto Honesto. 1989 Blxsk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, 1989 Blxsk's Remigio Torres got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ciriaco Cordarrell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eriberto Honesto having to make a save. 28 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Ur came free, but Julio Ferman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Ferman came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by 1989 Blxsk's Miguel Godoy. But to his dismay, Miguel Godoy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 39thth minute of the game Ciriaco Cordarrell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1989 Blxsk's Eriberto Honesto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SAN LORENZO FC's zone, Celestino Millano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Ferman came out of the goal and Celestino Millano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciriaco Cordarrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Eriberto Honesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Cordarrell in the 53rd minute of play. SAN LORENZO FC's Julio Ferman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Godoy in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by SAN LORENZO FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luke De Kelper was slow to take the kick. During this time 1989 Blxsk's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to 1989 Blxsk's Remigio Torres getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 64 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's Ciriaco Cordarrell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eriberto Honesto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 65 minutes into the game, 1989 Blxsk's Celestino Millano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Ferman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 1989 Blxsk's Leonel Hibai was substituted for Ubaldo Ur. 1989 Blxsk's Sokol Mudrov was substituted for Mick Snowdon. Leonel Hibai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Julio Ferman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Hibai in the 79th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Julio Ferman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Ciriaco Cordarrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Honesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SAN LORENZO FC's Ciriaco Cordarrell got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Leonel Hibai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ciriaco Cordarrell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Honesto was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched 1989 Blxsk eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
