With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sam Bates in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augusto Batalla saved A. Korn from getting behind. The supporters of Memphis Grizzlies booed when A. Korn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jósep Guardiola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9thth minute of the game Sam Bates who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A. Korn's Augusto Batalla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 11th match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sam Bates to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in A. Korn's zone, Sam Bates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Batalla came out of the goal and Sam Bates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Alvaro Urtsin in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Memphis Grizzlies's Brandon Branson. Sam Bates might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augusto Batalla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sam Bates ran back to his position shaking his head. Augusto Batalla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Bates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ramon Diaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pat Zamora was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. A collision led to A. Korn getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Orlando Demario hit a great ball. After 46 played minutes, Memphis Grizzlies's Freddie Gettins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Augusto Batalla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. When Ramon Diaz fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A. Korn's protests and gave Ramon Diaz a yellow card for diving instead. Ramon Diaz kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. With a little luck, A. Korn's Augusto Batalla got control of the ball when Sam Bates tried to sneak it across the goal line.
