The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Luis Santana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jose Arlo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Tor Rosenlund when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 9 in the game by Jose Arlo from a close distance when the talented Tor Rosenlund managed to make a qualified save. Santa Maradona's players were relieved. In the 11th minute Jose Arlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herminio Birila charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Herminio Birila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Santa Maradona's Herminio Birila got a free kick in the 12th minute. Tor Rosenlund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danilo Matos in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute Real Fantasma were awarded a corner. Rodriguinho do Valle went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Arlo in the 16th minute of play forced Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Tor Rosenlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Real Fantasma's Jorginho Cavalcante dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose Arlo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tor Rosenlund saved Santa Maradona from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Real Fantasma's Jorginho Cavalcante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tor Rosenlund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 27 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Ubarna. Tor Rosenlund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Arlo's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Jorginho Cavalcante was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 36th minute of the match, Jose Arlo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tor Rosenlund saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tor Rosenlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Arlo in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, Real Fantasma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorginho Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Rodriguinho do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 48th match minute, Real Fantasma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Marquez to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Luis Santana came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Shi Kun Yu could save by the left post. In the 55th minute Jose Arlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Matos in the 58th minute of play forced Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Tor Rosenlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gunnar Sundling was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 60 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the game, one of Real Fantasma:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jose Arlo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tor Rosenlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Matos in the 66th minute of the match. Real Fantasma's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodriguinho do Valle in the 68th minute. Rodriguinho do Valle made a great header on Real Fantasma's corner, it was just that Santa Maradona's Tor Rosenlund managed to reach the ball for a save. Real Fantasma's Jose Arlo got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Jose Arlo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tor Rosenlund. Santa Maradona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jose Arlo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. 76 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Arlo came free, but Tor Rosenlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Cecilio Ubarna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shi Kun Yu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Abaurre. Tor Rosenlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Real Fantasma's Shi Kun Yu got control of the ball when Luis Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th minute Jorginho Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Luis Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Maradona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
