In the 4th minute, Alberto Aizprua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buenaventura FC's Toro Martínez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Chucho in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Leonidas Moscoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Jairo de Azevedo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Cirilo Peyo to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Chucho in the 16th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Toro Martínez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walter Bock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cirilo Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walter Bock took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cirilo Peyo. Cirilo Peyo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 36th minute of the match, Walter Bock got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cirilo Peyo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Bermudez in the 40th minute of play forced Depor Alex Return's goalkeeper Cirilo Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André-Pierre Gignac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juan Remicio's late challenge caught a Buenaventura FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Remicio helped the player get up and apologised. Juan Remicio hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Walter Bock's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cirilo Peyo firmly grabbed it by the left post. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Depor Alex Return's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Walter Bock was slow to take the kick. During this time Buenaventura FC's players had a chance to rest. Walter Bock in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cirilo Peyo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Justino Chucho to make the kick off. Cirilo Peyo came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Buenaventura FC's André-Pierre Gignac. But to his dismay, André-Pierre Gignac quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Depor Alex Return's Teobald Pacholewski got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo de Azevedo in the 61st minute of play forced Depor Alex Return's goalkeeper Cirilo Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute André-Pierre Gignac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cirilo Peyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cirilo Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo de Azevedo in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Depor Alex Return booed when Buenaventura FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonidas Moscoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Toro Martínez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Justino Chucho. Cirilo Peyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Domeka got free with Toro Martínez in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toro Martínez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doriva Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when Depor Alex Return was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randle Barry didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cirilo Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André-Pierre Gignac in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo de Azevedo in the 86th minute of play forced Depor Alex Return's goalkeeper Cirilo Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonidas Escalona hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Randle Barry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Jairo de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cirilo Peyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Depor Alex Return's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
