Clube Esportivo Saudade's Gabriel Cardeñosa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by João Batista in the 22 minute of the game. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Miguel Ángel Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Reina in the 23rd minute of play. In the 23rdth minute of the game Armando Reina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Miguel Ángel Ortiz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Reina in the 26th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Clube Esportivo Saudade fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gabriel Cardeñosa was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube Esportivo Saudade's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gabriel Cardeñosa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miguel Ángel Ortiz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Feliciano Benedicto kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Raphael Mayol acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 37th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. After 39 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Ladislao Mazurkiewicz. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Prometeo Garay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Miguel Ángel Ortiz made a huge save. The throw-in from Marcel Abreu in the 57th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Clube Esportivo Saudade's Armando Reina. Prometeo Garay had several of the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Miguel Ángel Ortiz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Romeo Pardo hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. A collision led to Clube Esportivo Saudade getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Feliciano Benedicto hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Marcel Abreu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raphael Mayol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Miguel Ángel Ortiz made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Armando Reina sent off a good shot on target. Ivo Mello hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Armando Reina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Clube Esportivo Saudade were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
