In the 34th minute Patricio Lloret shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléber Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago-Tomas Gentiletti's late challenge caught a Clube do Remo MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With an all-out effort, Clube do Remo MZ's Ismael Momparte threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manfredo Breckenfeld, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When João Keane came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the GOMEZ F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Keane couldn't finish the play. The GOMEZ F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismael Momparte should have stopped the shot. Clube do Remo MZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
