Independiente's Gilbert Guzman made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Piero Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 28 played minutes Taltum FC got a freekick which was hit by Jose-Antonio Fortuño. In the 31st minute Pedro Monzón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piero Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Taltum FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Berinduaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. C. A. Independiente's Diego Cagna couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Taltum FC. C. A. Independiente's Guy Becerra quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Xzavion Bustos, made in the 37th minute of the game. The throw-in from Xzavion Bustos in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C. A. Independiente's Guy Becerra. Piero Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Guzman, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvaro Cotobal during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Taltum FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Cotobal to maneuver through the defense. Xu Yun Quan scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Piero Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half C. A. Independiente were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sandy Spaulding to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xu Yun Quan in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Piero Kahn saved Taltum FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xu Yun Quan in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Piero Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Piero Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilbert Guzman in the 57th minute. C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xu Yun Quan in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Piero Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Piero Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xu Yun Quan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piero Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xu Yun Quan went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Xu Yun Quan took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Piero Kahn. Piero Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 80th minute of the match, Xu Yun Quan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Piero Kahn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xu Yun Quan in the 82nd minute of play forced Taltum FC's goalkeeper Piero Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taltum FC's Piero Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandy Spaulding in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Taltum FC defense, Xu Yun Quan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Piero Kahn. The Taltum FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Piero Kahn should have stopped the shot. Piero Kahn was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Xu Yun Quan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Xu Yun Quan really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8.
