Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Frichoso in the 20th minute of play. Fidel Monte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xu Yun Quan's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th match minute, Real Ayuntamiento CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosendo Urbasa to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Monte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Sidro came free, but Miguel Ángel Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilbert Guzman kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Real Ayuntamiento CF's zone, Xu Yun Quan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Monte came out of the goal and Xu Yun Quan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fidel Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xu Yun Quan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandy Spaulding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fidel Monte made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Sandy Spaulding sent off a good shot on target. Xu Yun Quan might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fidel Monte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xu Yun Quan ran back to his position shaking his head. Fidel Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xu Yun Quan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Monte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandy Spaulding in the 44th minute. Xu Yun Quan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fidel Monte having to make a save. In the 45th minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Monte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the C. A. Independiente defense, Eloy Sidro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Ángel Santoro. The C. A. Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Ángel Santoro should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eloy Sidro to make the kick off. Fidel Monte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xu Yun Quan's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Xu Yun Quan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Ayuntamiento CF's Fidel Monte was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 59th minute, Real Ayuntamiento CF's Eloy Sidro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. A nice corner shot did that Tomás Quentin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miguel Ángel Santoro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Faustino Frichoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 81st minute, Sandy Spaulding ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fidel Monte was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of Real Ayuntamiento CF booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Guzman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eloy Sidro got free with Miguel Ángel Santoro in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 91 minutes, Xu Yun Quan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xu Yun Quan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Real Ayuntamiento CF's Albano Min got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 95thth minute of the game Xu Yun Quan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Ayuntamiento CF's Fidel Monte was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The C. A. Independiente fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Real Ayuntamiento CF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
