Ignacy Karbowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bartosz Lech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Brzeźnica Lynx's Cyryl Damaski got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 34 minutes, Miromir Lichorobiec managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shaolin soccer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miromir Lichorobiec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ceferino Gomar to make the kick off.
