But to his dismay, Nacho Villarroel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Kalidou Van Dijck hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Capibaribe Stars's Manfredo de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Capibaribe Stars from getting a goal against them. Feliks Osowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Botelho in the 18th minute of play. Manfredo de Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nacho Villarroel in the 20th minute. Internet XAire's Nacho Villarroel was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 21st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Internet XAire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modesto Fernendo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Botelho in the 25th minute of play forced Internet XAire's goalkeeper Feliks Osowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Feliks Osowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Manfredo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nacho Villarroel in the 41st minute of the match. When Christian Diniz fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capibaribe Stars's protests and gave Christian Diniz a yellow card for diving instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo Camargo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Capibaribe Stars's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Internet XAire had won, even though Capibaribe Stars had held more of the ball.
