Manfredo de Souza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paolo Caradaro went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Manfredo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paolo Caradaro in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Raimundo Camargo made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Germano. Club Atlético Atlanta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Capibaribe Stars's Víktor Terra got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 24 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Jaizki. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Kalidou Van Dijck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capibaribe Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Kalidou Van Dijck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Germano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manfredo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustaquio Jaizki in the 28th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Berdoi came free, but Manfredo de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Germano made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Armando Botelho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustaquio Jaizki in the 39th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustaquio Jaizki in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manfredo de Souza saved Capibaribe Stars from getting behind. 42 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Berdoi came free, but Manfredo de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luiz Figueiredo's late challenge caught a Club Atlético Atlanta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luiz Figueiredo helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Germano made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Armando Botelho sent off a good shot on target.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Camargo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Eustaquio Jaizki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Luiz Figueiredo in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Germano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 60th play minutes Pedro Luiz Figueiredo shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Carlos Germano and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Camargo in the 62nd minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Germano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Carlos Germano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Botelho's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Carlos Germano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Camargo in the 74th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Club Atlético Atlanta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kalidou Van Dijck took the corner. Kalidou Van Dijck made a great header on Capibaribe Stars's corner, it was just that Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Erramu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Eustaquio Jaizki came free, but Manfredo de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Capibaribe Stars support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
