The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In a very dangerous position, a player in Independente FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Bara Bara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Marquez in the 33rd minute of play. Bara Bara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Marquez's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Nando Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaroslaw Kensicki in the 40th minute of the match. A collision led to Phantasy World getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Miroslaw Szymkowiak hit a great ball. Jaroslaw Kensicki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Phantasy World were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Marquez to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Phantasy World's Mariusz Sebzda got a free kick in the 50th minute. Phantasy World's Bara Bara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Marquez in the 53rd minute of play. Phantasy World's attentive Miroslaw Szymkowiak managed to snatch the ball when Cahyo Rantung made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. Phantasy World's Miroslaw Szymkowiak got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Independente FC booed when Phantasy World was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariusz Sebzda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Fernando de Toledo got a throw-in 69 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Hudson Toscano. Phantasy World's Dominik Olszewski got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bara Bara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Jaroslaw Kensicki might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nando Sena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaroslaw Kensicki ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 78th minute Jaroslaw Kensicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nando Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Jaroslaw Kensicki put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Nando Sena. When Hudson Toscano came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Independente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hudson Toscano couldn't finish the play. Bara Bara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Prestes in the 84th minute of play. If Jaroslaw Kensicki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaroslaw Kensicki came free, but Nando Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
