Tiaguinho da Cunha came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A's Elías Olsson. But to his dismay, Elías Olsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Marcelo Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Vanja Milenković didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xapetuba Futebol Clube. 12 minutes into the match, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Tiaguinho da Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elías Olsson. After a rather tough play, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Marcelo Coutinho got a free kick in the 14th minute. If Elías Olsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes, Vivaldo Paes made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A's Vanja Milenković tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Vivaldo Paes in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A's goalie prevented a goal. 29 minutes into the match, KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Neiva came free, but Vanja Milenković reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrick Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vanja Milenković having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A's Przemyslaw Frankowski got a free kick in the 31st minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Vivaldo Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vanja Milenković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Paes in the 33rd minute of play. In the 40th minute Slawomir Wojciechowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiaguinho da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Tiaguinho da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Slawomir Wojciechowski in the 40th minute of play. Vanja Milenković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Paraíba in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Jacinto Paraíba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xapetuba Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A the free kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 53rd match minute, Xapetuba Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Duarte to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Amauri de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vivaldo Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Vanja Milenković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Jacinto Paraíba got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Tiaguinho da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slawomir Wojciechowski in the 64th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Slawomir Wojciechowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiaguinho da Cunha was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Slawomir Wojciechowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiaguinho da Cunha having to interfere. After 76 minutes, Vivaldo Paes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xapetuba Futebol Clube and the KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vanja Milenković made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Paes in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Xapetuba Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Claudinho Duarte hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Vivaldo Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Patrick Neiva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vanja Milenković. That made the score 2-3 in the 95 minute of play. The KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Xapetuba Futebol Clube to win.
