Efrain Vilardell might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carl Starfelt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Efrain Vilardell ran back to his position shaking his head. Carl Starfelt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Efrain Vilardell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 8 minutes, Efrain Vilardell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Maturrango's supporters crossed their fingers, but Efrain Vilardell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Real Club Celta de Vigo getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Gustavo De la Torre hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Vilardell came free, but Carl Starfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Real Club Celta de Vigo defense, Efrain Vilardell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carl Starfelt. The Real Club Celta de Vigo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carl Starfelt should have stopped the shot. Ahmet Fikret Çanak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amat Maldonado, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute Frodo Acarreta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Fikret Çanak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
