Atletico Maturrango's attentive Castel Neses managed to snatch the ball when Thaddeus Bellemare made a throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game. With a little luck, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Jason Achin got control of the ball when Efrain Vilardell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Efrain Vilardell could shoot a difficult shot in the 7th minute, which Jason Achin however easily saved by the left post. Ahmet Fikret Çanak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Dostie, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After 13 played minutes Qikiqtarjuaq FC got a freekick which was hit by Thaddeus Bellemare. The audience thought a goal was coming when Efrain Vilardell got free with Jason Achin in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jason Achin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Efrain Vilardell went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Efrain Vilardell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Jason Achin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Dostie in the 35th minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Ahmet Fikret Çanak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Mario Dostie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ahmet Fikret Çanak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39thth minute of the game Michael Owen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Maturrango's Ahmet Fikret Çanak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Denver Grimes in the 41st minute. Ahmet Fikret Çanak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Junior Stover in the 42nd minute of play. Atletico Maturrango's Ahmet Fikret Çanak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Junior Stover in the 44th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Moses Daniel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Qikiqtarjuaq FC and the Atletico Maturrango players grew even worse after the yellow card. Atletico Maturrango's Efrain Vilardell got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Junior Stover made the kick off in the second half. Ahmet Fikret Çanak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Junior Stover in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goal looked a bit too open when Junior Stover came free, but Ahmet Fikret Çanak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Junior Stover struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Ahmet Fikret Çanak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Qikiqtarjuaq FC. In the 60th minute, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Mario Dostie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ahmet Fikret Çanak. Ahmet Fikret Çanak yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. A collision led to Atletico Maturrango getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Castel Neses hit a great ball. Ahmet Fikret Çanak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Dostie in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute of the match Qikiqtarjuaq FC got a corner. Atletico Maturrango's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Denver Grimes ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Denver Grimes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ahmet Fikret Çanak quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With an all-out effort, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Ahmet Fikret Çanak threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mario Dostie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 80th minute, Efrain Vilardell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jason Achin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. After some careless play in the Qikiqtarjuaq FC defense, Efrain Vilardell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jason Achin. The Qikiqtarjuaq FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jason Achin should have stopped the shot. Ahmet Fikret Çanak made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Junior Stover sent off a good shot on target. Ederono Ojero hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Atletico Maturrango were victorious despite being under pressure from Qikiqtarjuaq FC for much of the match.
