Mauro Eliazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Unai Nuñez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Almeida came free, but Carl Starfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real Club Celta de Vigo were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Juventudes Libertárias's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Evelio Lastras took the corner. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agostinho Almeida made a kick off. In the 54th minute Alexsandro Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Starfelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexsandro Simão in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carl Starfelt saved Real Club Celta de Vigo from getting behind.
