Adalberto Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Volvio Moreno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JFSP the free kick. The supporters of JFSP booed when Volvio Moreno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Checa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adalberto Cruz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Virgilio Rocendo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 44 minutes, Adalberto Cruz made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Volvio Moreno's Virgilio Rocendo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. JFSP's Hamílton Alagoano was substituted for Laerte Barbosa. A nice corner shot did that Remigio Santiago got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Moisés Novaes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaspar Evangelista was the one to do the kick off. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Moisés Novaes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 82ndth minute of the game Adalberto Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Volvio Moreno's Virgilio Rocendo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
