Congo Bongo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT the free kick. Lázaro Berdoi hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Epifanio Ihazintu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Rayman. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Leonides Eladio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Lehior in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Victoriano Jerrold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Eladio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Eladio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Blai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonatan Bortzaioriz's late challenge caught a Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonatan Bortzaioriz helped the player get up and apologised. Jonatan Bortzaioriz hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Juan Pablo Gallinas got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT defense, Victoriano Jerrold kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonides Eladio. The Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonides Eladio should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute Congo Bongo were awarded a corner. Erasmo Sengrat went to the cornerflag to take it. Ramiro Blai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Eladio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Jerrold in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Erasmo Sengrat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Congo Bongo's supporters rose to their feet, but Erasmo Sengrat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonides Eladio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonides Eladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victoriano Jerrold, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th match minute, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Maureo to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Victoriano Jerrold's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Eladio was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. After having played for 39 minutes, Ismael Lehior managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Congo Bongo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Lehior was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute of the match Erasmo Sengrat shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonides Eladio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Leonides Eladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonatan Bortzaioriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half Congo Bongo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Leonides Eladio was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Ramiro Blai capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ramiro Blai really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Epifanio Ihazintu came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Jose Rayman. But to his dismay, Jose Rayman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victoriano Jerrold got free with Leonides Eladio in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Epifanio Ihazintu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Rayman, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Lehior came free, but Leonides Eladio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Eladio made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Ramiro Blai sent off a good shot on target. Leonides Eladio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismael Lehior's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ramiro Blai kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leonides Eladio. That made the score 2-4 in the 83 minute of play. Fac. de Ed. A nice corner shot did that Victoriano Jerrold got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonides Eladio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Epifanio Ihazintu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jose Rayman went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. In the 95th match minute, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelino Panfilo to maneuver through the defense. The Congo Bongo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Congo Bongo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
