Ben Labigne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Natanael Paraense made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcus Diniz to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Dênis Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Till Geppert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Hannover Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Klemt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hannover Reds fans cheered their team off the field, for while Goiás Esporte Clube had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
