A collision led to Sporting Royal getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Octavian Gherasescu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Peres in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leontin Ilieș saved Sporting Royal from getting behind. After 20 minutes, Umberto Peres made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sporting Royal's Leontin Ilieș tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dênis Faria hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Diniz in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leontin Ilieș saved Sporting Royal from getting behind. Umberto Peres hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Diniz in the 33rd minute of play forced Sporting Royal's goalkeeper Leontin Ilieș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cosme Cimbron came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Sporting Royal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cosme Cimbron couldn't finish the play. Natanael Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgil Panciu in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Dênis Faria notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sporting Royal's Leontin Ilieș. Leontin Ilieș was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavian Gherasescu in the 46th minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgil Panciu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oswaldo Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Leontin Ilieș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosme Cimbron hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Marcus Diniz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Diniz couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Diniz got free with Leontin Ilieș in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute Virgil Panciu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Royal made a substitution. Hermes Soveral replaced Cosme Cimbron. A collision led to Sporting Royal getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Damian Crăciun hit a great ball. Sporting Royal's Hermes Soveral got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sporting Royal's Nae Moisil was substituted for Ionică Predescu. Natanael Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Panciu in the 86th minute of the match. Oswaldo Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Mike Tyson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Sporting Royal fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Goiás Esporte Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
