Epifanio Ihazintu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Dias in the 8th minute. Erasmo Sengrat was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, one of Congo Bongo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Congo Bongo. BATMAN SK were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Congo Bongo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ali Faruk Ergüner took the corner. The corner led BATMAN SK's Ali Faruk Ergüner to fire away a dangerous shot which Epifanio Ihazintu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th minute, BATMAN SK's Felipe Dias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 17th minute, Congo Bongo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ali Faruk Ergüner fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jonatan Bortzaioriz struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Dida Gentenaar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Congo Bongo. In the 21st minute, Arsenio Maraman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Dias struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Epifanio Ihazintu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Epifanio Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
