Marcus Diniz started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Marcus Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Eladio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Leonides Eladio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Diniz in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Saul Maureo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goiás Esporte Clube the free kick. A collision led to Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Saul Maureo hit a great ball. Leonides Eladio came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiás Esporte Clube's Umberto Peres. But to his dismay, Umberto Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Marcus Diniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Natanael Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejandro Eufrasio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the game, Marcus Diniz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leonides Eladio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Leonides Eladio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis Faria in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute Marcus Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Eladio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Eladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Natanael Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Marini in the 40th minute of play. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Leonides Eladio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis Faria in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match Goiás Esporte Clube got a corner. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valdir Neves ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Marini in the 47th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Natanael Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Tomás Marini made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Diniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Leonides Eladio made a huge save. 56 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goalkeeper Leonides Eladio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dênis Faria. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Diniz in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonides Eladio saved Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT from getting behind. Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Rayman in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Pablo Gallinas in the 82nd minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Natanael Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonides Eladio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Peres in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis Faria came free, but Leonides Eladio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Tomás Marini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Eladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Goiás Esporte Clube players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
