Academia B.F.'s Wiliam Carioca was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cássio Corinth in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After having played for 42 minutes, Matías Suárez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A Gryffindor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matías Suárez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Matías Suárez put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Vicente Catarinense.
