The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sandrinho Messias might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brian Lambert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sandrinho Messias ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 6th minute Sid Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Lambert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clive Workman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Amílton Paraíba made a huge save. Amílton Paraíba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Billy Booth in the 11th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Poetass FC's zone, Clive Workman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Paraíba came out of the goal and Clive Workman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Billy Booth's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Amílton Paraíba firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Billy Booth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Billy Booth fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s protests and gave Billy Booth a yellow card for diving instead. Billy Booth kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrew Brookman in the 32nd minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Amílton Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Clive Workman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amílton Paraíba. Clive Workman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Fernando Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Brian Lambert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrew Brookman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Paraíba having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Billy Booth to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clive Workman in the 53rd minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Amílton Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Billy Booth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílton Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Poetass FC's Amílton Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clive Workman in the 56th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Billy Booth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amílton Paraíba was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. If Billy Booth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Poetass FC's Olavo Carioca got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute of the match Kevin Crouch shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílton Paraíba showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 68th minute, Sid Gol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Lambert was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Lisburn Distillery F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clive Workman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Poetass FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Workman came free, but Amílton Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute Elói Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílton Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrew Brookman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílton Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew Brookman, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Lisburn Distillery F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis Sharpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sid Gol got free with Brian Lambert in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrew Brookman in the 94th minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Amílton Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
