Luis Swain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karim Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Luis Swain came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Wil 1900's Karim Gerber. But to his dismay, Karim Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 11 played minutes Club Dep. Union Madereros got a freekick which was hit by Codruț Dumitrana. With a little luck, FC Wil 1900's Lew Maurer got control of the ball when Cornelio Colas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Olivier Ostermann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luis Swain was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Cornelio Enmanuel lost his temper 20 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 24 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Union Madereros's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Ostermann came free, but Luis Swain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Union Madereros's Codruț Dumitrana got a free kick in the 26th minute. After some careless play in the Club Dep. Union Madereros defense, Olivier Ostermann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luis Swain. The Club Dep. Union Madereros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luis Swain should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Union Madereros's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Ostermann came free, but Luis Swain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leo Argina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, FC Wil 1900's Yann Wirz got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Club Dep. Union Madereros got a corner. FC Wil 1900's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Davis Doty ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Club Dep. Union Madereros's corner Davis Doty fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lew Maurer quite easily take care of the ball. After 41 minutes, Sebastian Artal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Dep. Union Madereros and the FC Wil 1900 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Club Dep. Union Madereros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Artal to maneuver through the defense. Adriano Bollhalder, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Union Madereros's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Ostermann came free, but Luis Swain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Club Dep. Union Madereros got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Gumaro. In the 83rd minute FC Wil 1900 were awarded a corner. Adriano Bollhalder went to the cornerflag to take it. Lew Maurer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lew Maurer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Dimo in the 96th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Wil 1900 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
