With a little luck, Silver Play 2's Tomás Lucila got control of the ball when Matthew Brookman tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Crouch in the 29th minute of play forced Silver Play 2's goalkeeper Tomás Lucila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Silver Play 2's goal looked a bit too open when Kenny Duckworth came free, but Tomás Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matthew Brookman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tomás Lucila firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fabien Barthez came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Silver Play 2's Åke Ugla. But to his dismay, Åke Ugla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tomás Lucila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Groom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, Silver Play 2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lisandro Hanni to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute Åke Ugla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Ronny Whieldon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Egg Chasers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Silver Play 2 the free kick. Fabien Barthez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Corderun in the 43rd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Silver Play 2's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Groom came free, but Tomás Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damazy Boruta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabien Barthez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Tomás Lucila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Groom, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peter Crouch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Silver Play 2 booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonny Wilkinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronny Whieldon kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Fabien Barthez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Segundo Txurio in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Egg Chasers FC's Jonny Wilkinson got a free kick in the 57th minute. Segundo Txurio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Fabien Barthez made a huge save. 66 minutes into the match, Silver Play 2's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Groom came free, but Tomás Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
