Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vaggelis Pantelidis made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Matthew Brookman sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by GREEN LIONS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kenny Duckworth was slow to take the kick. During this time Egg Chasers FC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Lee Bannatyne heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 19 minutes into the match, GREEN LIONS's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Groom came free, but Vaggelis Pantelidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Ignatios Papachronakis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Fabien Barthez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 29 minutes, Gerasimos Vasilarakos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GREEN LIONS and the Egg Chasers FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, GREEN LIONS's Gerasimos Vasilarakos got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Matthew Brookman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Egg Chasers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The audience was convinced that Joel Groom's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vaggelis Pantelidis was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Demis Laggizos to make the kick off. Gerasimos Vasilarakos was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Egg Chasers FC booed when GREEN LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerasimos Vasilarakos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Egg Chasers FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while GREEN LIONS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
