The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vintilă Mirciulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, SuperDepor's goalkeeper Alex Crâșmaru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ugutz Albizua. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colon Rico in the 11th minute of play forced SuperDepor's goalkeeper Alex Crâșmaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Ilixo Bueno seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ilixo Bueno the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C.D. Ciudad de Soria protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ilixo Bueno had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 13 minutes into the game, one of C.D. Ciudad de Soria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. C.D. Ciudad de Soria:s Lucas Sabina showed great skill when he stopped Emil Gârdescu:s penalty. Ugutz Albizua's late challenge caught a SuperDepor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ugutz Albizua helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th minute, Dionisio Canyelles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alex Crâșmaru. The goal made the score 1-0. Marcos Villalcazar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Alex Crâșmaru skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lucas Sabina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Gârniceanu in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 minutes, Lisandro Alcaraz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.D. Ciudad de Soria and the SuperDepor players grew even worse after the yellow card. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Lucas Sabina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Gârdescu in the 36th minute of play. Emil Gârdescu scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Sabina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 42 minutes into the game, SuperDepor's Vintilă Mirciulescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lucas Sabina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Vintilă Gârniceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SuperDepor's supporters rose to their feet, but Vintilă Gârniceanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucas Sabina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil Gârdescu to make the kick off. The supporters of SuperDepor booed when C.D. Ciudad de Soria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egoi Urruti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Sabina made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Vintilă Gârniceanu sent off a good shot on target. Colon Rico hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as SuperDepor's Zachary Czerniak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lucas Sabina. That made the score 1-5 after 88 minutes of play. In the 91st minute, Vintilă Gârniceanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Sabina was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.D. Ciudad de Soria's goalkeeper Lucas Sabina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The SuperDepor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SuperDepor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
