The shot was a little too simple and Malcolm Kruuse could save by the left post. After 4 minutes of play, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Lamine Yambao made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Malcolm Kruuse was left in no man's land by his defense there! JKs Talanger's Malcolm Kruuse proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save JKs Talanger from getting a goal against them. Hardas Bat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Carvalho having to interfere. Arne Björklund took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Maria Carvalho. José Maria Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 24 minutes into the match, JKs Talanger's goalkeeper Malcolm Kruuse had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romário Ronaldo. In the 25th minute Clube Atlético Mineiro were awarded a corner. Romário Ronaldo went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 39th minute, Daniel Abrahamsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernani Mesquita during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Ernani Mesquita got a free kick in the 40th minute. The supporters of Clube Atlético Mineiro booed when JKs Talanger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arne Björklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Hardas Bat came free, but José Maria Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jude Bellingham was the one to do the kick off. When Romário Ronaldo fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Mineiro's protests and gave Romário Ronaldo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th minute Arne Björklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, JKs Talanger's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Ronaldo came free, but Malcolm Kruuse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malcolm Kruuse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clube Atlético Mineiro's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
