A collision led to XV de Piracicaba getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Fábio Montoia hit a great ball. Michel Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alpertunga Korcan, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Fábio Montoia took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erenay Barkan. Erenay Barkan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Michel Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sancarbey Çakıroğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Montoia in the 28th minute of play forced MarineerS FK's goalkeeper Erenay Barkan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Michel Pernambucano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gonzalo Jurdan took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erenay Barkan. Erenay Barkan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 43rd minute, Ruud Vandenbosch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eurico Novaes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erenay Barkan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half XV de Piracicaba were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sancarbey Çakıroğlu was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in MarineerS FK's zone, Gonzalo Jurdan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erenay Barkan came out of the goal and Gonzalo Jurdan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Fábio Montoia took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Erenay Barkan to make any attempt to save it. 63 minutes into the match, MarineerS FK's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Capixaba came free, but Erenay Barkan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Jonny Ambjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in MarineerS FK's zone, Fábio Montoia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erenay Barkan came out of the goal and Fábio Montoia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MarineerS FK's Alpertunga Korcan pulled a muscle in his leg after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. MarineerS FK made a substitution. Ahmet Bilgiç replaced Alpertunga Korcan. In the 74th match minute, XV de Piracicaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Custódio to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, MarineerS FK's Ragıp Kirmanşah got a free kick in the 81st minute. With an all-out effort, XV de Piracicaba's Erenay Barkan threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yuri Tasso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sancarbey Çakıroğlu struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Michel Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MarineerS FK. In the 91st minute of the match XV de Piracicaba got a corner. MarineerS FK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eurico Novaes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led XV de Piracicaba's Eurico Novaes to fire away a dangerous shot which Erenay Barkan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The XV de Piracicaba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing XV de Piracicaba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
