But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deen Castronovo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deen Castronovo in the 22nd minute of play forced Kalessin's goalkeeper Alejandro Jerano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Ogro F.C. were awarded a corner. Alexandre Aposan went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ogro F.C.'s corner Alexandre Aposan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alejandro Jerano quite easily take care of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Kalessin's goal looked a bit too open when Deen Castronovo came free, but Alejandro Jerano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alejandro Jerano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clive Burr in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Edelmiro Heli's late challenge caught a Ogro F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
