The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Stig-Arne Boström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Délio Peixoto. In the 6th minute Kaká Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig-Arne Boström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Wik in the 8th minute of play forced Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper William Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. William Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulf Öfverman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Niklas Wik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Niklas Wik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brothers of Mercy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A throw-in in the 18th minute of the game was made by Erasmo Santana with Kaká Mota as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Stig-Arne Boström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Mota in the 19th minute of the match. Stig-Arne Boström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Délio Peixoto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Stig-Arne Boström made a huge save. In the 34th minute Kaká Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig-Arne Boström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaká Mota came free with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stig-Arne Boström could save by the left post. Stig-Arne Boström was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Kaká Mota capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kaká Mota really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 42nd minute of the match, Jean Sarmento tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stig-Arne Boström saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Thiago van Dijk put in a rough tackle. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brothers of Mercy!

Stig-Arne Boström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhang Zheng Liang, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute, Sixten Skoog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brothers of Mercy's Bengt-Rune Strömbom was substituted for Ulf Öfverman. Sixten Skoog kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Sarmento came free, but Stig-Arne Boström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th match minute, Brothers of Mercy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörn Matsson to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Bengt-Rune Strömbom kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving William Rosa. That made the score 1-2 in the 82 minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper William Rosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean Sarmento in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stig-Arne Boström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stig-Arne Boström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Mota in the 93rd minute of play forced Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Stig-Arne Boström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stig-Arne Boström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Brothers of Mercy supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brothers of Mercy would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
