Seating: 1834, VIP seats: 158) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christer Bredberg started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Brugge United's Aldo Candal got control of the ball when Fredric Hylander tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 6th minute Christer Bredberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Helge Nykvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roth Prot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonso Arixo hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Pacho Carabajal scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Helge Nykvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 23 minutes into the match, Brugge United's Pacho Carabajal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Helge Nykvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Chris Cross fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Billesholm's protests and gave Chris Cross a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Billesholm's Chris Cross got a free kick in the 24th minute. Casper Jannes made a great header on Brugge United's corner, it was just that Billesholm's Helge Nykvist managed to reach the ball for a save. Mattijs Parmentier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helge Nykvist having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sture Hellbom got free with Aldo Candal in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Billesholm's goalkeeper Helge Nykvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pacho Carabajal to strike the kick off in the second half. When Alfonso Arixo fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Billesholm's protests and gave Alfonso Arixo a yellow card for diving instead. Aldo Candal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredric Hylander in the 53rd minute of play. Billesholm's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcus Grep in the 54th minute. The corner led Billesholm's Marcus Grep to fire away a dangerous shot which Aldo Candal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Roth Prot kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to Billesholm getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Sture Hellbom hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sture Hellbom in the 64th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Dieter Uyttebroeck fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brugge United's protests and gave Dieter Uyttebroeck a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dieter Uyttebroeck to maneuver through the defense. Billesholm made a substitution. Knut Danielsson replaced Sture Hellbom. The supporters of Billesholm booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieter Uyttebroeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aldo Candal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Danielsson in the 70th minute of the match. Aldo Candal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Knut Danielsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Jorge Isemborgh's late challenge caught a Billesholm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Isemborgh helped the player get up and apologised. Jorge Isemborgh hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Marcus Grep sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brugge United's Aldo Candal didn't even have to move. In the 83rd minute, Knut Danielsson made a precise shot to the right of Aldo Candal. Brugge United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 90 minutes of play, Brugge United's Pacho Carabajal made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Helge Nykvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! Billesholm's Karl-Magnus Ferm was substituted for Fredric Hylander. Brugge United's Aldo Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Knut Danielsson in the 94th minute of play. The Brugge United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
