The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Ove Håning got free with Mikel Bravo in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of !Pabellon Ourense C.F. booed when FC Hackspett U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernani Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Luiz Eduardo Chaves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tony Henriksson skillfully saved the ball. Luciano Unzueta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Ove Håning got free with Mikel Bravo in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute of the match FC Hackspett U21 got a corner. !Pabellon Ourense C.F.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edvard Klemensson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Edvard Klemensson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but !Pabellon Ourense C.F.'s Mikel Bravo did a great save. Mikel Bravo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Ove Håning in the 30th minute of play. Fred Ånger charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fred Ånger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of !Pabellon Ourense C.F. booed when FC Hackspett U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Ånger didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes FC Hackspett U21 got a freekick which was hit by Alvin Brenner. 45 minutes into the match, Jan-Ove Håning had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mikel Bravo. !Pabellon Ourense C.F.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan-Ove Håning was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ermanno Del Duca was the one to do the kick off.
