Spectators: 8001 (Terracing: 6002, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 159) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Robbie Fowler took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Manly FC's Sydney Ross got control of the ball when Gualberto Abbatte tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 7 played minutes Manly FC got a freekick which was hit by Bray Paull. After 8 played minutes, CSD Concepción's Juanjo Campaña shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sydney Ross came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CSD Concepción reached it. The audience was convinced that Daud Gazale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sydney Ross was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 12th minute, Gualberto Abbatte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sydney Ross was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salomone Liendo in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sydney Ross saved Manly FC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Robbie Fowler sped through CSD Concepción's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicolás Villamil. The supporters of CSD Concepción booed when Manly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Panetta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sydney Ross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daud Gazale, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The audience was convinced that Gualberto Abbatte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sydney Ross was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Sydney Ross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daud Gazale, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Nicolás Villamil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Fowler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When CSD Concepción's Victoriano Sierra in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sydney Ross showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salomone Liendo in the 54th minute of the match. Victoriano Sierra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th match minute, CSD Concepción was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualberto Abbatte to maneuver through the defense. CSD Concepción made a substitution. Mario Flores replaced Gualberto Abbatte. CSD Concepción made a substitution. Erasmo Lacunza replaced Chico Ortega. A collision led to CSD Concepción getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gualberto Abbatte hit a great ball. Nicolás Villamil was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mourad Rocchi. Nicolás Villamil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Fowler in the 73rd minute of play. Manly FC's Fleming Wal was substituted for Valentino Panetta. With a little luck, CSD Concepción's Nicolás Villamil got control of the ball when Robbie Fowler tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute, Robbie Fowler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Erasmo Lacunza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sydney Ross. Manly FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erasmo Lacunza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Nicolás Villamil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robbie Fowler's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. When CSD Concepción's Erasmo Lacunza in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Manly FC's goalie prevented a goal. CSD Concepción's Nicolás Villamil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Fowler in the 93rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. CSD Concepción had won after a very even match.
