Gelu Măcrinici's late challenge caught a Nagyváradi AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gelu Măcrinici helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41stth minute of the game Jedrzej Kasprzak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Luís Fernando Pirani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 44th match minute, Merusca F&P - CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jedrzej Kasprzak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ákos Szél got free with Luís Fernando Pirani in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Dmitry Ilyushin was substituted for Walmir Pontes. In the 61st minute, Roberto Nesta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. György Miklós didn't quite understand what happened when in the 62 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Jos Van Hinnendael didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dmitry Ilyushin went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 93rd minute, Ákos Szél hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nagyváradi AC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
