After 37 played minutes Club Deportes Santa Cruz got a freekick which was hit by Podador Raheiro. 39 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Tupper came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Renan Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Mavericks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportes Santa Cruz the free kick. In the 43rd minute Yan Zhi Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Mavericks's Fan Cheng Song got a free kick in the 45th minute. Sport Club Mavericks's Laércio Paraíba got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raimundo Tupper was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yan Zhi Chuan in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Gröhe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yan Zhi Chuan struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Marcelo Gröhe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportes Santa Cruz. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yan Zhi Chuan in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Gröhe saved Sport Club Mavericks from getting behind. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Club Mavericks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vágner Linares was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Deportes Santa Cruz's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Vágner Linares almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sport Club Mavericks's Marcelo Gröhe did a great save. If Yan Zhi Chuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Yan Zhi Chuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Gröhe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Sport Club Mavericks's Marcelo Gröhe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan Zhi Chuan in the 77th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Tupper.
