With an extended leg and a bit of luck Videl Mauriz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 3rd match minute, MILLONARIOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruud van Nistelrooij to maneuver through the defense. MILLONARIOS FC's Videl Mauriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquez Padolles in the 5th minute of play. Evaristo Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Videl Mauriz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba Foot Ball Club. MILLONARIOS FC's Videl Mauriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Montenegro in the 13th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of MILLONARIOS FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coritiba Foot Ball Club:s goal. In the 21st minute Evaristo Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Videl Mauriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Montenegro in the 28th minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Videl Mauriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, MILLONARIOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ieltxu Corales to maneuver through the defense. Videl Mauriz came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Fausto Romero. But to his dismay, Fausto Romero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquez Padolles in the 42nd minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Videl Mauriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marquez Padolles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Senen Sevilla fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MILLONARIOS FC's protests and gave Senen Sevilla a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MILLONARIOS FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Senen Sevilla hit a great ball. Videl Mauriz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marquez Padolles in the 63rd minute. Marquez Padolles made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 63rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Videl Mauriz would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Videl Mauriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márk Sári in the 69th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Theo Hernández hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Márk Sári got a free kick in the 79th minute. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Alvaro Rudolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Corredor in the 80th minute of play. Márk Sári received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Videl Mauriz came out and tried to block the shot, but Márk Sári slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 83rd minute. Evaristo Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Videl Mauriz having to interfere. Videl Mauriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Coritiba Foot Ball Club had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
