Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rodrigo Nestor kicked off to start the match. Italo Franklin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. With an all-out effort, Paulopolis's Italo Franklin threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pedro Luís Capixaba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Nestor in the 9th minute of play forced Paulopolis's goalkeeper Marcel Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurinho Tavares scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcel Mota, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hudson Vargas hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Hudson Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, PIAUÍ FC's Italo Franklin got control of the ball when Pedro Luís Capixaba tried to sneak it across the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Paulopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Tavares came free, but Marcel Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Rodrigo Nestor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIAUÍ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 39th minute Rodrigo Nestor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 minutes, Sílvio Luís Mello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paulopolis and the PIAUÍ FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Sílvio Luís Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of PIAUÍ FC booed when Paulopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luís Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half PIAUÍ FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Luís Capixaba to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, PIAUÍ FC's Joaquim Correia got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luís Capixaba in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Italo Franklin saved PIAUÍ FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Paulopolis defense, Rodrigo Nestor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Mota. The Paulopolis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Mota should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd match minute, Paulopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hudson Vargas to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Nestor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcel Mota. Paulopolis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Nestor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Abel Donatello took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Marcel Mota to make any attempt to save it. Marcel Mota made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Maurinho Tavares sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute, Pedro Luís Capixaba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Italo Franklin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. The supporters of Paulopolis booed when PIAUÍ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Luís Capixaba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Italo Franklin having to make a save. A collision led to PIAUÍ FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Zé Roberto Velloso hit a great ball. PIAUÍ FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
