In the 19th minute Severino Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aztore Sarantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Galsino Bradi during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Galsino Bradi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some careless play in the El Pinar defense, Severino Falcão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aztore Sarantes. The El Pinar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aztore Sarantes should have stopped the shot. If Severino Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aztore Sarantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Falcão in the 28th minute of play. El Pinar's Aztore Sarantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Falcão in the 31st minute of play. Fulgencio Lazaeta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Michel Seco made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Rosado in the 37th minute of play forced El Pinar's goalkeeper Aztore Sarantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, El Pinar's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Falcão came free, but Aztore Sarantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

In the 65th minute, Rigoberto Manso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Aloísio Zanette from long distance, 66 minutes into the match, got Aztore Sarantes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 67 minutes into the game, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Afonso Rosado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aztore Sarantes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. A collision led to El Pinar getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Lixandro Rossell hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Aloísio Zanette broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Aztore Sarantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Falcão, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Aztore Sarantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Falcão in the 81st minute of play. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El Pinar! Aztore Sarantes had in the 84thth minute some difficulties stopping Aloísio Zanette's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Aztore Sarantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Rosado in the 89th minute of play. After 91 minutes, Fulgencio Lazaeta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Pinar and the Nova Iguaçu MZFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 91 played minutes El Pinar got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Lazaeta. Aztore Sarantes made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Severino Falcão sent off a good shot on target. El Pinar's Aztore Sarantes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save El Pinar from getting a goal against them. In the 94th match minute, El Pinar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sustrai Falceto to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nova Iguaçu MZFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
