The audience thought a goal was coming when Nilmar Vargas got free with Octavian Bogdănescu in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Dorian Hoffmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octavian Bogdănescu was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Răzvan Petrescu hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The long shot by Nilmar Vargas in the 18th minute really tested Octavian Bogdănescu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgil Dragalina during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pindobassu EC booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgil Dragalina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valer Cobâlcescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dráusio Diniz. Pindobassu EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dráusio Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marius Cănănău in the 32nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilberto Cordeiro in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octavian Bogdănescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dráusio Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Vergulescu in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pindobassu EC's Víktor Donatello got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 40 minutes, Augustin Nechifor made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pindobassu EC's Dráusio Diniz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeff Beck was the one to do the kick off. Virgil Dragalina hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Octavian Bogdănescu came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Pindobassu EC's Jeff Beck. But to his dismay, Jeff Beck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Víktor Donatello during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valer Cobâlcescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dráusio Diniz. Pindobassu EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Nilmar Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Pindobassu EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilmar Vargas couldn't finish the play. Jeff Beck took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Bogdănescu. Octavian Bogdănescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 69 minutes into the game, Pindobassu EC's Jeff Beck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Octavian Bogdănescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Vali Dinculescu's late challenge caught a Pindobassu EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vali Dinculescu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Vali Dinculescu got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute, Dorian Hoffmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Octavian Bogdănescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. 79 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Vargas came free, but Octavian Bogdănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octavian Bogdănescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorian Hoffmann went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Octavian Bogdănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeff Beck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Pindobassu EC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
