In the 4th minute Cafu de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Ferrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jules Noriega fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Lea Papá's protests and gave Jules Noriega a yellow card for diving instead. Jules Noriega hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Lea Papá defense, Álvaro Proença kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Ferrer. The Club Atlético Lea Papá fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Ferrer should have stopped the shot. After 11 minutes, Álvaro Proença mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Three Lions FC and the Club Atlético Lea Papá players grew even worse after the yellow card. Álvaro Proença hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Dênis de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejo Veliz, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The supporters of Club Atlético Lea Papá booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arturo Ferrer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 15 minutes of play Club Atlético Lea Papá's Jules Noriega was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 16th match minute, Club Atlético Lea Papá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jules Noriega to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lea Papá's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Duarte came free, but Arturo Ferrer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Washington Camacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 minutes of play, Club Atlético Lea Papá's Joaquín Montalvo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dênis de Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Washington Camacho kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu de Moraes in the 48th minute of play forced Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalkeeper Arturo Ferrer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Arturo Ferrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Proença in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Joaquín Montalvo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arturo Ferrer was a little too slow when Cafu de Moraes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-3. Arturo Ferrer came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Three Lions FC's Cafu de Moraes. But to his dismay, Cafu de Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Joaquín Montalvo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Arturo Ferrer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Lea Papá from getting a goal against them. George Modrić was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 79th minute, Maximiliano Lovera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalkeeper Arturo Ferrer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeferson Pombal. Cafu de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Arturo Ferrer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cafu de Moraes got free with Arturo Ferrer in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Three Lions FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Atlético Lea Papá.
