The crowd rose to their feet as Álvaro Proença kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Antônio Rezende. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Antônio Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guto Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Pereira in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, C.A Gryffindor's André Luís da Rocha got a free kick in the 12th minute. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Douglas Duarte took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Antônio Rezende to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Douglas Duarte got free with Antônio Rezende in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Guto Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 20 minutes, Abelardo Loureiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A Gryffindor and the Three Lions FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to C.A Gryffindor getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Abelardo Loureiro hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes C.A Gryffindor got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Custódio. Antônio Rezende was a little too slow when Kauã do Valle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 4-0. Antônio Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Douglas Duarte in the 33rd minute. Antônio Rezende was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Kauã do Valle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kauã do Valle really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeferson Pombal got free with Antônio Rezende in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Kauã do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, C.A Gryffindor's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Proença came free, but Antônio Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Álvaro Proença in the 46th minute. Antônio Rezende made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Cafu de Moraes sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Antônio Rezende didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeferson Pombal went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Antônio Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antônio Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu de Moraes in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, C.A Gryffindor's Carlinhos Ortiz got a free kick in the 63rd minute. C.A Gryffindor's Antônio Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu de Moraes in the 66th minute of play. Antônio Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 68 minutes, Cristian Catarinense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A Gryffindor and the Three Lions FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute, Cristian Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to C.A Gryffindor getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Carlos Eduardo Gonçalves hit a great ball. Sebastian Pereira hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Antônio Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kauã do Valle in the 78th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Rafa Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the C.A Gryffindor defense, Álvaro Proença kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antônio Rezende. The C.A Gryffindor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antônio Rezende should have stopped the shot. In the 86th minute, Cafu de Moraes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Three Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. C.A Gryffindor's Antônio Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu de Moraes in the 90th minute of play. When Abelardo Loureiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 91 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, C.A Gryffindor's Abelardo Loureiro got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute of the match George Kroos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antônio Rezende skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Duarte in the 96th minute of play forced C.A Gryffindor's goalkeeper Antônio Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Three Lions FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
