The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Flavio Locatelli kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camillo Nola got free with Filip Bâru in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute, Calistrat Potopea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C CLUJ MEDICINA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valeriu Bucurescu during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Valeriu Bucurescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filip Bâru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Giannetta in the 18th minute of the match. Filip Bâru made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Camillo Nola sent off a good shot on target. 21 minutes into the game, Antonio Poletti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GiaSiRo 08's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C CLUJ MEDICINA the free kick. In the 21st minute, Antonio Poletti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 23 minutes, Calistrat Potopea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calistrat Potopea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA booed when GiaSiRo 08 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Poletti didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, GiaSiRo 08's Ermanno Alfonsi got a free kick in the 28th minute. Ovidiu Voicescu scored 0-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aldo Lemme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camillo Nola got free with Filip Bâru in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 39 played minutes GiaSiRo 08 got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Locatelli. Frank Giannetta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Filip Bâru came out and tried to block the shot, but Frank Giannetta slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 43rd minute. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Antonio Poletti took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Filip Bâru to make any attempt to save it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Calistrat Potopea to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edoardo Sammartano in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filip Bâru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dragoş Cordescu kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Filip Bâru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermanno Alfonsi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonio Poletti kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Aldo Lemme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Potopea in the 73rd minute of the match. After 75th play minutes Calistrat Potopea shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Aldo Lemme and just under the crossbar into goal. Ovidiu Voicescu's late challenge caught a GiaSiRo 08's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ovidiu Voicescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Voicescu to maneuver through the defense. Filip Bâru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Giannetta, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 85th minute Calistrat Potopea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Lemme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aldo Lemme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Potopea in the 88th minute of the match. After 90 minutes GiaSiRo 08's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dragoş Cordescu who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Valeriu Bucurescu advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-5 in the 90th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched F.C CLUJ MEDICINA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
